Perhaps more importantly, the textbook doesn’t mention that the original building being discussed was known as the church of St. Vincent before it was known as the Mosque of Cordoba.  Muslims would capture a city select the best Christian Cathedral in the city, add several Minarets, and call it a Mosque. The other Christian churchs in the city were torn down.
