Islam did not spread by trade, but Islam used trade to its advantage. Islam controlled trade in the Mediterranean and other parts of the world to increase in wealth and power. Islam became the greatest slave traders of the world for 1400 years. Slaving trading was the single most important trading item of Islam. Muhammad himself traded slaves to begin the sanction of that practice. Islamic slave trading was the primary funding tool of Islamic wars. Islamic slavery still goes on today in Africa in the Sudan. Northern Sudan Muslims are capturing and enslaving Southern Christians and the United Nations looks the other way.
