“He (Muhammad) said he had the responsibility of clarifying God’s truth.” p. 453 My World History (Early Ages)

By clarifying God’s truth this textbooks is referring to the Bible both Old and New Testaments.

Who gave Muhammad the responsibility of clarifying the Hebrew Old Testament, and the Greek New Testament? Himself. No one ever saw the angel Gabriel speak to Muhammad. Muhammad was an Arab, and many Muslims claim Muhammad was illiterate. What is an Arab doing clarifying Hebrew texts that he can’t read that have been around for 2,000 years, and Greek texts that he can’t read that have been around 500 years? Muhammad didn’t clarify anything, but confused the stories with huge alterations. But the word clarify sounds so nice to a child’s mind. In fact, Muhammad condemned the Jews and Christians for corrupting the Old and New Testaments. However, that would not sound so nice to a child’s mind, or looks so nice in a child’s textbook. All this is slanted wording that skirts around the real truth of the events in history to make Muhammad look respectable.
